How to make your own colored sugar
If you can't find colored sugar sprinkles in the grocery store or would simply want to save yourself money, you can make your own colored sugar. It's so easy. Just place sugar in a re-sealable zipper storage bag, put a drop or two of liquid food coloring onto the sugar and shake vigorously for about one minute. Adjust to the color you want to achieve. Just remember to put food coloring a little at a time so you won't overdo it. I used Ferna liquid colors. Happy baking!

Cookies and cream cupcakes
I was craving for cookies and cream ice cream but I decided to make a cupcake version instead.

They're just your classic chocolate cupcakes frosted with traditional buttercream with crushed oreo cookies.

I added more crushed cookies on top for a more enjoyable experience. Everyone at hubby's workplace loved them!

Cupcakes with shooting stars!
I was passing by Gourdo's in Alabang Town Center a few weeks ago when I saw a bottle of Jumbo Stars Sprinkles from Wilton. These lil stars were so cute, I couldn't resist them. I went home with a bottle in my hands. Baked vanilla and chocolate cupcakes just to try them out!
